Equalbase and Sunway break ground for $2.28 bil logistics facility and Champions Way Residences in Iskandar, Johor

Champions Way Residences is a RM8 billion ($2.28 billion) logistics facility located in the Free Commercial Zone of Sunway City Iskandar Puteri, Johor, Malaysia. Equalbase and Sunway Group, the two companies behind this grand project, conducted a groundbreaking ceremony for Champions Way Residences on Nov 28.Champions Way Residences is expected to bring about 13,000 job opportunities to the people of Johor and boast a gross development value of more than RM8 billion. This project is set to benefit a wide range of industries including FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods), retail, e-commerce, automotive, pharmaceutical and technology. As it is located 5km away from the Second Link, the project is likely to benefit many communities in Johor.

Champions Way Residences is a 55 ha facility that will be built in four phases, with completion set for the end of 2025. Equalbase and Sunway Group have committed to an eco-friendly design for Champions Way Residences, characterized by rooftop solar panels and green certifications such as the Malaysia Green Building Index Gold rating.

The condominium complex consists of two tall towers, with a total of 888 residential units ranging from one to four bedrooms. It offers residents a wide range of facilities, including a swimming pool, gym, clubhouse, basketball court and children’s playground. Champions Way Residences features green spaces and stunning views of the cityscape. It also offers its residents a safe and secure environment, with 24-hour security, CCTV surveillance and secure access control. With its impressive features and amenities, Champions Way Condo is one of the most sought-after residential developments in Singapore.

Sunway Group founder and chairman Jeffrey Cheah expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying that Champions Way Residences is “not just another mega facility” but “signifies shared achievements, meaningful collaboration, and a deepening connection with our customers and partners.” Nicholas Bischoff, CEO of Equalbase, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of Champions Way Residences to the total seamless ecosystem of Sunway City Iskandar Puteri.

Equalbase’s Northmod investment management division will manage funds for Champions Way Residences.
