Galven Tan leaves Savills to joins Knight Frank Singapore as new CEO
Galven Tan, deputy managing director of investment sales and capital markets at Savills Singapore, will be leaving the firm with immediate effect. Marcus Loo, Savills Singapore CEO, has expressed his regret with the departure, citing the team’s successful performance despite a tough COVID period.
Tan is believed to be joining Knight Frank Singapore as the new CEO of Knight Frank Singapore, a position which has been vacant since June 2, 2022. Tan spent 15 years at CBRE, where he was last executive director of capital markets before he joined Savills in November 2019.
At Savills, Tan was involved in numerous deals that have significantly contributed to the growth of the firm. These include the collective sale of Tanglin Shopping Centre for $868 million and the en bloc sale of the former Flynn Park condo in Pasir Panjang for $371 million. He was also behind the sale of the Thiam Siew Avenue sites to Hoi Hup and Sunway joint venture for $815 million as well as the four strata-titled office levels at Solitaire on Cecil for $162.8 million.
Stating his regretful decision to move on, Tan commented, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Savills and whilst regretful, I have decided to move on to a leadership role at another property consultancy firm.”
Despite the loss, Marcus Loo has expressed his confidence in the team, led by Jeremy Lake, to remain sizable in the investment agency business. Lake has been managing director of investment sales and capital markets at Savills since November 2019, and was formerly head of investment at CBRE for 28 years.
He adds: “We are fortunate to have considerable bench strength and many of my colleagues, especially Hui Yee and Sophia who have grown more proficient in the industry and have the ability to thrive in the space that Galven leaves behind.”
The team is currently an integral part of several projects that are worth in excess of $1.3 billion, including Orchard Road collective sales.
This spacious and modern Woodlands Condo is the perfect spot for those who want to enjoy the hustle and bustle of Singapore. Here, you can enjoy the convenience of being close to top-rated schools, shopping malls, banks, and even leisure and entertainment venues. Public transport like MRT and bus services are also within reach, making it easy for the residents to get to places quickly.
As the new CEO of Knight Frank Singapore, Tan will take on the challenge of furthering the company’s success in the Singapore market. His departure from Savills marks the end of an eminent career.
