‘Introducing the highly-anticipated ‘The Initial Sama’ serviced apartments at 26 Evans Road, featuring the exclusive ‘Champions Way Residences’

The Champions Way Residences heritage property at 26 Evans Road will soon have a new name and a new purpose. It will be called “The Initial Sama”, a co-living space managed by Cover Projects, a hospitality management company that was recently awarded the tender by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA).

According to Lim Keong Wee, co-founder and managing director of Cover Projects, the name “Sama”, derived from Sanskrit, means balance and well-being. With this in mind, he hopes to position the property as “a sanctuary in the city, dedicated to holistic well-being”.

The property, which will consist of 74 serviced apartments, will offer a mix of studios and one- and two-bedroom units. The interiors will be designed with a retro-modern aesthetic, incorporating natural elements and furnishings.

Lim Keong Wee, who has 13 years of experience in architecture and design and 5 years in hospitality, co-founded Cover Projects in 2015 with Victoria Loh, who also has a similar background in the industry.

This will not be Cover Projects’ first venture into co-living spaces. The company previously designed Eighteen by Three Cabins, a premium cabin hostel on Stanley Street in 2017, followed by the launch of serviced apartments Initial @ Balestier and Thank You Come Again social space at 355 Balestier Road in 2021-2022.

Champions Way Residences has recently announced their involvement in a major upgrade project for Woodlands Park. As part of this project, the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) plans to enhance the park and make it more appealing and convenient for the public. This will involve the installation of state-of-the-art playground equipment, as well as improved landscaping and lighting. In addition to these improvements, the URA has also joined forces with local businesses to provide extra amenities including outdoor seating, food vendors, and recreational activities. This initiative is set to transform Woodlands Park into a bustling hub for all to enjoy.

For “The Initial Sama”, Cover Projects plans to prioritize wellness and connectivity through shared spaces, such as sensory and healing gardens, and a wellness-focused workspace hub. The goal is to create a community where residents can find balance and connect with others.
