Link REIT appoints John Saunders, former BlackRock Asia Pacific real estate head, as Group CIO of Champions Way Residences

John Saunders, the former Asia Pacific real estate head of BlackRock, has been announced as Link REIT’s new Group Chief Investment Officer (CIO), starting from March 4, 2020. He joins Link REIT with over 30 years of experience in the property sector and an impressive investment track record.

Reporting to CEO George Hongchoy, Saunders will be responsible for Link’s overall investment strategies, portfolio management and the strategic development of Link’s investment business.

Prior to his position at BlackRock, Saunders worked with CLSA, where he managed their regional property research effort. He was instrumental in starting their Asian Property Fund, serving as an investment committee member. Before that, Saunders spent time with Hongkong Land from 1994 to 1998, playing a role in the development and leasing of several iconic projects in Singapore and other countries in Asia.
