Minor Hotels extends Avani brand to Europe and Latin America

Minor Hotels, headquartered in Bangkok, is expanding its presence in Europe with the aim of targeting “millennial-minded travellers” through its lifestyle brand Avani Hotels & Resorts. Already in Portugal, Avani is set to open five new hotels in two year’s time across Spain, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands. Avani Alonso Martinez Madrid Hotel in Spain, Avani Palazzo Moscova Milan Hotel and the Avani Rio Novo Venice Hotel in Italy, the Avani Frankfurt City Hotel in Germany and the 163-room Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam Hotel in the Netherlands are the new properties.

The group will also follow this up with two hotels in Central and South America with new launches in Mexico and Colombia. The 140-room Avani Cancun Airport Hotel in Mexico is set to open in the third quarter of 2023, while the 66-room Avani Royal Zona T Bogota Hotel in Colombia is set to follow in the fourth quarter.

Launched in 2011, Avani Hotels & Resorts currently has 38 properties in 20 countries across Asia, Australasia, The Middle East, Indian Ocean and Africa, and Europe, with more than 530 hotels globally in operation. Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels, states that the expansion of the Avani brand into Europe and Latin America reflects their strategy to continuously expand and diversify its hotel offerings in the upscale tourist segment.
