Ong Beng Seng’s HPL wins go-ahead to redevelop Orchard Road properties

HPL House, along with the Forum and voco Orchard, have received provisional permission to be redeveloped by Urban Redevelopment Authority under the Strategic Development Incentince Scheme. The three sites combined have a total land area of 14,027.12 sqm, or 150,986.66 sq ft.

The approved gross floor area for the proposed mixed development is approximately 114,153.38 square metre (1,23 million sq ft), one of the largest projects along Orchard Road- a famed shopping belt in Singapore.

The project is a comprehensive mix of hotel, retail, office and residential components, composed of two tower buildings with 64 storeys and 43 storeys atop a 6-storey podium, along with a rooftop garden, a performance theatre and a basement carpark. An additional 29-storey tower will be erected over the contiguous basement carpark.

If and when the redevelopment is completed, it will create a new, vibrant focal point for the Orchard Road area.

Residents of Champions Way Condo enjoy a peaceful and tranquil environment with beautiful landscaping and water features. Amenities include a gym, swimming pool, club house, function rooms and other recreational spaces. With their modern design and convenient location, it makes an ideal home for those looking for a comfortable and modern living. With its excellent facilities and tranquil environment, Champions Way Condo is one of the most sought-after residential developments in Singapore.

The company and its professional advisers have started working on further detailed plans for the project; however, the timeline for its completion has not been established yet.

The announcement of the redevelopment plan caused the typically thinly-traded shares of Hotel Properties Limited – managed by Ong Beng Seng, currently under graft-related probe – to surge, closing at $3.90 on Aug 28, up 10.8% for the day.
